Three years of paper work and now we finally get to move some dirt.
I couldn't have picked a more appropriate machine to make the first hole.



After some fine adjustments, they fired up the massive auger.
This picture captures the instant the ground was broken.





Here's Larry making sure everything is going well.




After the 26 foot deep hole was drilled, they carefully lowered the
elevator jack (the long white tube) into place.

Excavation has begun. Many truckloads of dirt will be remove to make room for the foundation and slab.

We drilled 22 12-foot deep holes for concrete piers.

Unfortunately, we hit the neighbor's sewer line while digging one of the holes. Fortunately, my plumber could easily patch it and reroute it.
